At the core of every POWERTRONIX
Medical Isolation Unit (MIU), Power
Line Conditioner (PLC), Power Distribution Unit (PDU) and Power
Distribution, Isolation & Management Unit (PDIMU) is a
POWERTRONIX Toroidal Power Transformer. These
components are designed and manufactured these in-house, giving greater
flexibility in design, lower development and production cost, and shorter
time to market. Furthermore, using ultra low
impedance, high isolation, POWERTRONIX Toroidal Power Transformers in stand-alone AC power units, POWERTRONIX MIUs, PLCs, PDUs and PDIMUs offer
a great many advantages to conventional products that use RFI power line
filters or EI type laminated transformers.
POWERTRONIX Toroidal Power Transformers, integrated with POWERTRONIX
Non-Linear, and High Frequency Filters, suppress power line noise, surges,
and spikes from 1 kHz to 300 MHz, meanwhile providing extended brownout
range, eliminating ground-loop problems, and insulating connected
equipment against potentially harmful leakage currents. In comparison, RFI
power line filters typically only suppress higher frequencies (most
effectively from 50 kHz to 30 MHz), and they simply can't provide true
power line isolation.
POWERTRONIX Toroidal Power Transformers are small, light, easy to mount,
and extremely flexible (diameter to height ratios of 5:1 to 1.5:1 are
possible). In addition, the circular tape wound core, with uniformly
distributed windings, has no airgaps. Therefore, POWERTRONIX Toroidal
Power Transformers are very quiet and efficient, they have an extremely
low magnetic strayfield and ultra low output impedance. In contrast, EI
type laminated transformers are typically twice as big and twice as heavy
as their toroidal counterparts. They are also more difficult to mount and
are comparably inflexible. Furthermore, conventional transformers have a
much lower efficiency and higher operating temperature than POWERTRONIX
Toroidal Power Transformers. Finally, due to the airgaps and junctions
between windings, EI type transformers emit mechanical noise and have a
greater magnetic stray field than our toroidal transformers. |
