Entran pressure sensors are available in a large variety of sizes, shapes and styles to suit a broad range of test and control applications. Each pressure sensor series is designed with a particular group of measurement and control applications in mind. The easiest way to categorize this vast array of sensors is to place them in Pressure Sensor Product Families having common characteristics. The seven broad sensor families below will help you find the sensor most appropriate to your particular need.

The Miniature Pressure Sensor Family is made up of pressure sensor models that are both small in size and manufactured with a stainless steel diaphragm. This family contains the smallest stainless steel diaphragm sensors available, in a variety of styles and shapes. Choose from flush or recessed diaphragms styles in cylindrical probes, flat surface-mount or threaded models. The combination of small size and an environmentally rugged sensing member is what makes this family unique.

The Sub-Miniature Pressure Sensor Family includes some of the tiniest pressure sensors in existence, with minute pinhead size diameters. A monolithic Silicon Chip sensing diaphragm makes them extremely small in size as well as light in weight, while providing an incredibly high frequency response. Entran's in-house silicon foundry has specialized in micro-miniaturization for more than 25 years utilizing the latest techniques in silicon diffusion, ion implantation and micro-machining. This family of sensors has been refined for the rigorous requirements of modeling, surface testing, wind tunnel measurements and flight, where the need sub-miniature size and profile is often coupled with a requirement for high frequency capability. Special protective coatings are available for difficult environments.

The High Performance Pressure Sensor Family features pressure sensors with enhanced parameters such as high stability, high accuracy, high sensitivity or high frequency. Each sensor in this family has one or more of these high performance characteristics. Sensors in the High Performance family include features such as long term stability better than 0.2% per 6 months for static pressure measurements, resonant frequencies to 1.7MHz for an ultra-fast dynamic response, combined non-linearity and hysteresis as good as 0.05%FS or sensitivities as high as 5V FSO. This is a family of pressure sensors for cutting edge performance.

The Low & High Pressure Sensor Family groups together pressure sensors that are particularly well suited to pressure sensing at the low and high ends of the pressure spectrum. Pressure sensors in this category are designed to measure pressures less than 5psi (0.35bar) or greater than 5000psi (350bar). Pressure testing in this range often requires special consideration or design. At the low end, sensors are available for measuring sound pressure levels with an extremely sensitive micro-machined diaphragm. For high pressure, the family includes rugged sensors that can withstand the rigors of blast measurements, including one with an ablative heat shield to withstand high temperature flashes.

The Industrial & Severe Environment Pressure Sensor Family was created to suit the special needs of OEM manufacturers and industrial users as well as applications in severe environments. Sensors in this family include a "low-cost OEM" model, pressure probes for corrosive media, and a special line of high temperature pressure sensors. Low priced pressure sensors for factory installation and OEM use, models suitable for sensor and cable immersion, and pressure sensors built to survive at high temperature. Each pressure sensor engineered for a specific use.
