Miniature Metal Bellows
for
metallic hermetic seals, volume compensators, pressure and temperature
sensors, flexible connectors, and countless other applications where
quality, dependability, reliability and long life are critical
requirements.
There
are five major types of metal bellows:
Rolled
Hydroformed
Welded
Chemically deposited
Electrodeposited (Electroplated, Electroformed)

Flexible Shaft Couplings
Some
unique characteristics of Servometer bellows-type flexible shaft couplings:
Extremely low
elastic windup
Zero backlash
Zero cyclic speed variation during 360° rotation
Minimal side loading
Typical
applications include:
Encoders
Resolvers
Servos
Motion control instrumentation
Robotics
CNC machine tools
Precision positioning

Spring Contacts...
In electronic
devices, certain components may require one or more spring contacts to
achieve reliable electrical connection.
Typical
applications include:
Diodes
Delay lines
Wave guide components
Printed circuit boards
Bellows spring
contacts are used where the connection cannot or should not be permanent,
particularly when the parts are to be inserted, removed and re-inserted.
The two types of spring contacts best suited for these applications are
gold-plated wire mesh cylinders and gold-plated miniature metal bellows.

Electroforms...
Servometer manufactures many specialty electroforms which normal
electroplating companies cannot produce. Our electroforms can be made with
unusual shapes, and close tolerances. They are lightweight with a rugged
structural rigidity.
Servometer Electroforms forms are produced by electrodepositing a thin
layer of nickel onto an aluminum mandrel of any shape, then chemically
dissolving the aluminum, leaving behind a thin shell of tough nickel,
which is the electroform. Servometer has perfected this electroplating
process over the years while producing millions of metal bellows,
using the same technique.
Some advantages of Servometer electroforms:
Light weight
combined with high toughness
Limitless geometries are possible, even with varying cross sections
They are manufacturable with varying wall thickness in a single part
Electroforms can be made integral with our bellows, eliminating the
need for welding or soldering
Diameters as small as 0.020 in.
Close internal tolerances
Extreme temperatures as low as -423°F below zero
