| ASME Code for Filter Housing Pressure
Vessels
ASME (American Society of Mechanical
Engineers) codes and standards provide strict rules for materials of
construction, design, fabrication, examination and inspection of
pressurized vessels. ASME publishes its standards and accredits users to
ensure that users' products meet its standards. These safety codes and
standards are designed to protect public health and safety. ASME provides
a stamp that accredited manufacturers such as Pall Corporation may place
on their filter housing pressure vessel products, to indicate that they
comply with the standard.
3-A Sanitary Standards
3-A Sanitary Standards were developed by
the food and dairy industries to establish sanitary design criteria for
processing equipment. Manufacturers of equipment used in sanitary food and
beverage processing applications must receive authorization from the 3-A
Symbol Council to use the 3-A symbol on equipment they manufacture. Pall
Corporation is authorized to use the 3-A symbol on its filter housings
which meet this standard. The 3-A symbol serves to assure sanitary
processors that our equipment meets 3-A standards, meets design criteria
accepted by equipment manufacturers who incorporate Pall filters in their
sanitary processing systems, and meets sanitarians' guidelines for
standards compliance.

| Semiconductor Industry
Contamination control is one of the most
critical concerns in manufacturing semiconductors and discrete devices.
Faced with ever-increasing pressure to maximize production yields in order
to compete in world markets, today's microelectronics firms are also
challenged by demands for ICs with greater memory, faster speeds and
reduced size. Thus, the dilemma of achieving greater yields in the face of
shrinking device geometries has intensified the need for filtration and
purification at every crucial stage of semiconductor fabrication.
Experience has shown that proper
application of micro-filtration, purification and ultra-filtration from
front-end to back-end processing can significantly increase production
yields. Pall Corporation's technology and products are continuously
advancing to meet industry demands for removal of particulate and
bacterial contamination from process fluids and gases. Furthermore, in
order to maintain the highest possible purity of the process fluids being
filtered, emphasis is placed on ensuring the quality and cleanliness of
our filters and housings during manufacturing, assembly and packaging. |
