Ultrasonic Air Bubble Detection / Liquid Level Detection Sensors &
Electronics
Introtek International designs and
manufactures non-invasive ultrasonic air bubble and liquid level detection
systems, which utilize a patented, reliable, pulse-type ultrasonic
technology. This advanced technology allows for the detection of air, air
bubbles, or liquid level without susceptibility to many of the problems
exhibited by continuous wave ultrasonic systems or optical detection
systems.
Introtek's sensors are typically used
on patient-connected medical devices to detect air in tubing before it
enters a patient's bloodstream.
Applications
- Apheresis
- Auto Transfusion
- Blood Processing
- Hemodialysis
- Infusion and Syringe Pump Devices
- Chromatography
- Dispensing
- Other Industrial applications
Any of Introtek's standard sensors
and electronics can be
- custom-designed to meet the
requirements of O.E.M. systems
- used on tubing as small as
1/16" in diameter to vessels as large as 4 feet across
- used on stainless steel or glass
and work well on most plastics
TECHNOLOGY
Pulsed
Ultrasonic Air Detection:
By developing its patented, Pulsed Ultrasonic technology for air
detection, Introtek has overcome many of the problems associated with
Continuous Wave systems. With Introteks system, the transmit signal
consists of short bursts or pulses of Ultrasonic energy. After each pulse,
the electronics looks for a return signal within a specific window of
time, which corresponds to the time it takes for the energy to pass
through the tube filled with liquid. Only signals received during this
window of time will indicate fluid. Signals which have been interrupted by
air will not be received within this window, thus causing our electronics
to send out the appropriate air warning indication to the operator. Introteks
Pulsed Technology: Features and Advantages:
Pulsed
Technology. Patented technology allows greater applications
flexibility; its unaffected by optical, dielectric, or physical properties
of tubing or fluid.
Non-Invasive
Design. With no interaction between Introtek sensors and the fluid (or
air) within a tubing or vessel, liquid compatibility and sterility
concerns are eliminated. Also, system maintenance is dramatically reduced
over that of invasive systems.
Solid
State Design. With no moving parts in its design, mechanical failure
is entirely eliminated.
No
Calibration Required. High-efficiency system design provides optimum
performance while eliminating the need for intricate and tedious field
calibration.
High
Noise Immunity. Introteks pulse technology greatly reduces the effect
of electrical and RF noise to its air detection components.
Design
Flexibility. A variety of standard designs are available, from single
stand-alone systems to low cost/high volume modular designs for O.E.M.
applications. Introtek can also develop custom sensors and electronicsfrom
concept to completion.
