Instruments for Electrical Safety Compliance

Starting as a repair company in 1936, servicing panel meters and instruments, Associated Research soon became a manufacturer. The Vibrotest was the first battery operated insulation resistance tester ever created and became standard issue on all U.S. Navy ships during WWII. With the increase of electrical products during the post-war economic boom, AR was again on the leading edge, this time with a Hipot Tester. Hipot testing indeed became the company’s forte.

Over the years AR has continued to innovate and develop more advanced product lines in the Electrical Safety Compliance industry from basic entry-level manual Hipot and Ground Bond testers to fully-automated multi-function systems designed to meet the requirements of such agencies as UL, TÜV, CSA, IEC, VDE, BSI and the European Norms. These electrical safety compliance testing instruments will perform AC Hipot, DC Hipot, Insulation Resistance, Ground Bond, Line Leakage and Functional Run testing. Also available are accessory items such as switching matrices, probes and automation interfaces including IEEE-488 (GPIB), RS-232 or a printer controller.

Recently, AR introduced yet another industry breakthrough with the introduction of an enhanced graphic LCD in our OMNIA™ and HypotULTRA® III series of automated multi-function electrical safety compliance analyzers as well as to our next generation Hypot® III and HYAMP® III manual bench-top instruments. Additionally, AR is the only company to have its entire standard line of electrical safety compliance testing instruments safety agency listed. AR is also the only company to carry both the UL and TÜV safety agency marks on multiple family products.

Designed for automated test applications, our fully automated products can be controlled through IEEE-488 (GPIB) or RS-232 interfaces. This allows for a PC controlled test system. Families in our fully automated product group include OMNIA^®, QUADCHEK^® II, HypotULTRA^® III, HypotULTRA^® II, RUNCHEK^®, and LINECHEK^®. These products will perform AC Hipot, DC Hipot, Insulation Resistance, Ground Bond/Ground Continuity, Functional Run and Line Leakage tests. We also have automated scanning matrixes available. They are well suited for automated applications that require efficiency, flexibility, multiple tests, increased throughput and data storage.

Designed for entry level test applications, our manual products are best suited for bench-top instruments but can also be controlled through PLC remote control. They provide an easy-to-use, simplified interface for production line testing. Families in the manual product group include Hypot^® III, Hypot II and HYAMP III. These products will perform AC Hipot, DC Hipot, Insulation Resistance, and Ground Bond tests.

Electrical Safety test systems are designed to provide multiple electrical safety tests in one Device Under Test (DUT). AR has systems in all our product family groups and they will combine AC Hipot, DC Hipot, Insulation Resistance, Ground Bond, Functional Run and Line Leakage tests.

Autoware, is a stand alone software that is compatible with AR fully automated instruments. A version of Autoware is offered for all automated products and systems. Autoware, when used in tandem with our fully automated instruments, will perform Hipot, Insulation Resistance, Ground Bond, Functional Run and Line Leakage tests. Data can be stored, analyzed, and retrieved instantly.

Factory refurbished demonstration instruments at discounted prices. A one year warranty is provided on all of our reconditioned models that we currently manufacture. A 90- day warranty is provided on all our reconditioned models that are now obsolete.
