| The Pace Analytical offers extensive
capacity for organic and inorganic analysis as well as a broad range of
specialty services, which allow us to meet the environmental analytical
needs of our clients. In addition, our investments in consistency and
standardization provide us with the ability to maximize the capabilities
and capacity of all the laboratories, providing extra assurance that
client turn-around times are met. Pace Analytical provides services
through an integrated system of modern, fully equipped laboratories that
can analyze a variety of sample matrices ranging from air and water, to
hazardous wastes.
Environmental Services
Dioxin
and Furan are the common names associated with polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins
(PCDDs) and polychlorinated dibenzofurans (PCDFs). Extensive research has
concluded that exposure to dioxins and furans can result in biochemical
and biological effects in animals and humans. Because these ubiquitous
compounds accumulate in biological tissues, dioxins and furans have been
in the environmental spotlight for over two decades.
Pace
Analytical provides dioxin/furan analysis in support of industrial
compliance, federal regulatory/monitoring efforts, and the remedial
activities of military and civilian engineering firms. Extensive
experience with demanding projects and difficult matrices has forged a
"culture of quality" that ensures precision, accuracy, and data
integrity. Pace Analytical is a large, financially sound, nationwide
analytical services company with modern facilities and instrumentation,
significant dioxin capacity, and a commitment to on-time data
delivery.

Aquatic
Toxicity / Bioassay
Through
our locations in Asheville, North Carolina and Southeast Kansas, Pace
Analytical offers both fresh water and salt water bioassay testing, and is
certified and approved in states across the nation. The labs are also
skilled in performing site specific toxicity studies. With this expertise,
we are able to offer modified site-specific protocol, as well as approved
EPA and State Methods. Tests include a broad range
acute and chronic tests using a wide variety of fresh water and marine or
estruarian species.
Pace
Analytical's Air Sampling Services were developed to assist industrial and
public sector clients meet the increasing level of regulations covering
air emissions. Through our Field Services Division, Pace Analytical offers
a variety of air sampling services, including air pollution source testing
and ambient air monitoring. Pace Analytical provides teams of experienced
professionals to perform sampling for various criteria and non-criteria
airborne pollutants, and can mobilize sampling teams to serve most areas
of the country in a timely manner. We can set up long-term or short-term
ambient air networks to monitor air pollutants, hydrocarbons,
particulates, and meteorological conditions. Pace Analytical is proficient
in a variety of sampling techniques, including passivated stainless steel
(SUMMA™) sampling canisters. In addition, as needed, Pace Analytical
staff fabricate many unique sampling trains to accommodate more
specialized sampling situations.
Pace
Analytical's Field Services Division has taken steps to utilize FTIR
technology in the field to provide real-time, cost effective analytical
results. By working directly with leading scientists and MIDAC
Corporation, a specialized FTIR manufacturer, Pace Analytical uses FTIR to
collect real-time data for monitoring chemical constituents in air. Taking
FTIR off the lab bench and into the field to measure process streams,
stacks, indoor air and other emission sources using methods published by
the EPA is an alternative approach to classical data collection techniques
for compliance monitoring.
FTIR
technology is practical for analyzing stack emissions for defined
hazardous air pollutants (HAPs) because it can analyze for multiple
compounds simultaneously, provides immediate results, and works well for
complex matrices. Data collected on-site is stored and can be retrieved
later to search for additional compounds. A mobile laboratory is not
necessary and there are no samples to collect or shipping charges
associated with sending air samples back to the laboratory. In certain situations,
FTIR may even replace some traditional stack testing methods.
Pace
Analytical provides clients with analytical support for ambient air
monitoring programs, source emission monitoring, landfill gas monitoring,
soil gas characterization, as well as analytical measurements to satisfy
requirements under state and federal government air monitoring programs.
Laboratory personnel have extensive experience in air toxics measurements,
and methods development; and our air sampling expertise gives us a higher
level of in-lab knowledge. Certified clean SUMMA canisters and sampling
media are among the many quality control mechanisms Pace Analytical
employs to ensure that results accurately reflect the true sample.

Industrial
Hygiene Services
Industrial
Hygiene Services are essential to maintaining a safe and healthy work
environment. Through our Indianapolis laboratory, Pace Analytical offers
full industrial hygiene services to assist clients in meeting NIOSH and
OSHA requirements across the country. The Indianapolis laboratory
maintains a quality control program, including NIOSH PAT and NIOSH ELPAT.
Pace Analytical's Industrial Hygiene Services include:- Air Organics
Pace
Analytical offers recently promulgated EPA Method 1668 for analysis of up
to 209 PCB compounds at the congener level. This HRGC/MS method was
developed to accurately quantify the risks associated with dioxin-like PCB
congeners at previously unattainable detection limits. One application of
this new method is the 503 regulations for land applied biosolids where
dioxin and dioxin-like compounds must be tested by methods 1613 and 1668.
Pace Analytical provides PCB Congener testing in support of: Biosolids
Testing, Remediation, Decontamination, and Risk Assessment.

Mobile
Analytical Laboratories
Mobile
laboratory services are provided through our Minnesota and New Orleans
laboratories to clients nationwide. These services can range from
screening techniques to full EPA method compliant data packages with full
QA/QC and electronic deliverables. Pace Analytical mobile labs are staffed
with highly trained personnel and equipped with the same state-of-the-art
instrumentation as our fixed labs. Our mobile labs utilize agency approved
methods or can incorporate more innovative techniques such as developing
performance based methods or immunoassay technology. Pace Analytical
mobile labs offer the added benefits of reduced project duration and
significant overall project savings. |
